2m Skip

Posted by W8JKC on June 26th, 2008

Well, it seems like there is some great skip on 2m VHF this week.

I made a few contacts on a couple repeaters already. As I was listening to one after I cleared, W1IX (Columbus, OH) made contact with a VE3 station in Canada.

Here is a log of the QSO\’s I made, which have all been submitted to eqsl.cc for credit.

I hope to make more, and also hope its this great for Field Day…

Why do people waste their lives away writing posts to spam my blog?

I mean come on,  your not going to get through. I have Akismet installed which filters out all of your spam comments anyways.

My readers and I do not want to visit your stupid porn and viagra, cialis and the like site(s). So just stop.

I am about to report several IP addresses to their ISP\’s so here is your warning.

I will also block the IP addresses or ranges that I report, when I do you will not be able to access anything on my server.

New Tower Installation

Posted by W8JKC on June 12th, 2008

Well, actually its an old tower and I moved it from its previous location in the middle of my field.

You can check out some photos of the tower, and antenna setup at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/w8jkc/archives/date-taken/2008/06/08/

The tower will be configured to host my scanner antennas, and some ham radio antennas in the near future.

Right now, I have the two MiniFlector antennas and 2 mag mount scanner antennas on it, along with a Radio Shack discone near the top.

This configuration covers 10Mhz up to 1300Mhz fairly well with extra support for Low Band VHF, and 900Mhz.

As soon as I get a dual band VHF/UHF NMO mount antenna for my truck, I will move the VHF antenna currently on it to the tower.
