Possible Upgrade

Posted by W8JKC on August 17th, 2007

Well I am planning on upgrading to general and then extra in the near future.

A few VE Sessions are available:

Hopefully I pass the first session (elements 3 and 4) so i can operate HF at the Ohio QSO party as KD8GPL/AG or KD8GPL/AE

I prefer the latter :)

Me and Jake (KD8GPM) have been asked to create a new site for the club because the old would crash from overloading bandwidth. Well you can view our live progress at this page:

Thanks.

Ham Map (Turkey is extra :P)

Surfin around on the net sometimes brings great rewards, laughs and references. Well I found one that met two of those (rewards/references)

The site\’s owner must be an expert at computers and web because he made a system to show all of the hams in a zip code, state, or by their call sign. This link was found in a Yahoo! Ham NewsGroup.

Enjoy!

Edit: After checking my email today I found some more great sites to add to my blogroll:

Thanks to the Ham who created these sites.

William Mickinley National Monument

Posted by W8JKC on August 16th, 2007

Sep 22 will be the 100 year mark since President Mickinley passed on. Local Amateurs will help contact other amateurs and along the parade route. Plans have been set for the Special Event Station W8M “William 8 Mckinley” to be located behind the monument and working on several bands with a primary on 40 meters.

Also, knowledgeable people have informed me that the monument was never officially dedicated 100 years ago.
This  amazes me because our city spent so much money and forgot to dedicate the thing.  It will be officially dedicated on Sep. 22nd.
